The MicroRX provides an ideal platform for growers looking to reduce irrigation cost, and automate irrigation during frost events.

Research has shown that automated irrigation for frost events can significantly reduce water use.

The HOBO MicroRX stations take advantage of the latest web-enabled technology to remotely monitor sites and to notify growers of important events such as frost conditions. HOBOlink Software provides remote access to data from any web browser, offering 24/7 access to your data and the ability to verify your system status, set up and manage alarm notifications, and schedule automated delivery of data, plus a whole lot more.

The HOBO MicroRX station incorporates a 4G SIM for 12 months fitted and ready to go, for good coverage and future-proofing.

An advantage of this system is the ability to plug and play additional sensors like rain and soil moisture.

Kit Includes:

  • 1 x MicroRX 2102/2106 cellular data logger with 5 inputs and built-in Solar Panel (Learn More)
  • 1 x Smart Temperature Sensor (Learn More)
  • 1 x Solar Radiation Shield (Learn More)
  • 1 x SIM Plan for 12 Months on the Telstra network with a 4G Cat M1 Sim
  • HOBOlink 12month Subscription to manage your system remotely with up to 1 min Logging, 10 min Uploads
  • SMS and Email Messages on alarm

Please note: Ongoing yearly fees will be required after the initial 12 months for the Sim Plan as well as, access to the HOBOlink cloud-base software to manage your site.

Optional Sensors

Soil Moisture

Soil moisture sensors can be deployed to allow growers to monitor soil moisture and optimize irrigation schedules. Better irrigation management not only saves water but also reduces associated pumping costs such as fuel and maintenance. Using less water also reduces stormwater runoff, which reduces the chances of negative impacts on the environment.

Rainfall Monitoring

For irrigation management, it is often important to know how much rain fell at each site, since rainfall can vary widely over an area. When rainfall data is desired, a rain sensor can be added. The rain sensor can also be used to verify irrigation amounts if it is deployed in the irrigated area (assuming a sprinkler-based system.)
